Theories of Counseling — MCPY 610

Theories quizzes

Two layers: a cross-theory drill built for CPCE prep, and per-deck quizzes for the units that had none. 112 questions total, each citing the slide or matrix row it was written against. Click to reveal answers and rationales. Not scored; for review, not assessment.

Note: The decks contain no speaker notes, so every question is written from slide body text only. Where a slide has a typo or an internal inconsistency, the rationale says so rather than quietly testing the error.

Cross-theory drill — CPCE prep

The course is finished; the CPCE is Summer 2028, during Internship A. Recall is already covered by the comparison matrix, flashcards, and Anki deck in the local class folder. What those don’t train is telling adjacent theories apart under time pressure — which is what these three drill.

Per-deck quizzes

Why only three per-deck quizzes: the instructor supplied quizzes for most theories (Adlerian, psychodynamic, existential, person-centered, gestalt, behavior, feminist, postmodern), and CT/REBT/CBT, IFS, and reality therapy already have quizzes in Classes/theories/new-quizzes/. These three had no quiz at all. Feminist Therapy is deliberately not here — its lecture deck is four slides, too thin to quiz from without the textbook chapter.

Covered elsewhere

Instructor quizzes exist for Adlerian, psychodynamic, existential, person-centered, gestalt, behavior therapy, feminist, and postmodern (narrative and solution-focused). Quizzes for CT/REBT/CBT, IFS, and reality therapy live as PDFs in the local class folder. None of those are reproduced here.
